Prof. Ing. David Herák, Ph.D.
Prof. Ing. David Herak, Ph.D. – is a professor at Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (CULS), where he has long been engaged in the application of agricultural technology in tropical zones and in the energy demands of processing of agricultural products. At present, he is author of several scientific projects focused on the processing of tropical oilseeds (palm oil, coconut, jatropha). Professor Herak published the results of his scientific work in prestigious scientific journals and his team was one of the first on a global scale to deal with tropical oil crops such are jatropha or palm oil. Currently he is the coordinator of international projects between the CULS Prague and Indonesia, the coordinator of the Erasmus plus Indonesia and the coordinator of the summer school in Indonesia. In the past, he has also participated in several international projects in Ethiopia, Indonesia, Cambodia, Myanmar, Turkey and Ukraine. He also served as guest professor at several foreign universities. Professor Herák is author of 70 publications in scientific databases (Web of Science and Scopus), author of two patents, member of European Physical Society, editor and reviewer of several high level scientific journals.
